Westfield first approached Wishart Design in 1999 to find a way of graphically linking their
shopping centres together as a whole rather than a collection of individual stores. Wishart came
up with the concept of the Westfield family which involved casting for photo shoots, art direction
and creating a unique graphic treatment for each centre. The concept was applied across centres
Australia wide and worked extremely well as a branding device and prompted Westfield marketing
to create an overall masterbrand package for the company.
